South Torfrey Farm

Sitting above the charming waterside village of Golant, and only 3 miles from the historic fishing port of Fowey, our cottages are perfectly located to explore this most delightful piece of the Cornish coast and countryside.

You won’t need to travel far to sample fresh, locally produced food, as we enjoy a good choice of fine riverside restaurants, quirky tea rooms and traditional watering holes.

Enjoy endless days on sheltered, sandy beaches. You can arrange sailing lessons on board a traditional Fowey River Sailing boat, or simply observe the spectacle of weekly racing during summer evenings from Fowey. The coastal path offers endless opportunities for superb walks. So, whatever your preference, seaside bar, canoe hire or a private cove, the beach is a very short distance away.

Cornwall is home to a feast of gardens; there are so many to choose from and none too far to explore. The Lost Gardens of Heligan near St Austell is wonderful and caters for all tates. A good resource to find the garden of your dreams is at Gardens of Cornwall.

And if golf is your thing, Lanhydrock Golf and Country Club is only ten minutes away.

For family adventures choose from steam trains and shipwrecks complete with pirates; wild monkeys, snowy owls and seals; tin mines, caverns, castles and historic houses – these are all within easy reach, and surrounded by fabulous countryside.

The Eden Project: we are lucky to boast of our proximity to Cornwall's major tourist attraction. This fantastic feat of engineering occupies a huge pit resulting from the commercial extraction of china clay, and the scale of the vast biomes, like giant soap bubbles, is amazing. Since its creation, Eden has grown and matured, so if you’ve been before, it’s well worth another look. Check the website for events, as the Eden Team is keen to play host to a variety of bands, storytellers and children’s entertainers. Eden buys our organic eggs, and we love them for it!
